4 Favorite WordPress Themes

Jan 10

I am a big fan of the extensibility of WordPress, and how wonderful most of the themes are.  Below I have compiled a list of my 10 favorite WordPress themes I have used.

OnTheGo - by ElegantThemes

This is easily the most catching and whimsical theme I have used, and I am quite smitten by it.  It is part of a 30 theme colection that you can purchase for $20 at the links above.

As with all of the themes at ElegantThemes, OnTheGo is customizable right out of the box with no programming skills required.  Included with the download are all the PSDs required to change any part of the site.

HandglovesHandgloves

A great free theme.  Simplistic in design, with clean mark-up, perfect for SEO.

I have used this as the main theme on a WordPress MU installation with only a few minor tweaks.

It lacks a lot of the features of commercial themes, but makes up for it in its tiny foot print, all files (images, css, and php).

ATAHUALPAAtahualpa

Another simple blog, but with more customizations than any theme I have ever seen.

With so many options, if I were to try and explain them to you, I would spend the better part of today writing it.

Download it and try it out for yourself, you will see over 20 pages in the theme settings. Each chalked full of settings to control the colors, hover and selected states, images, and backgrounds.

For a preview, my dad is actually using this theme.

Another one of the 30 themes you get for $20 over at the ElegantThemes.

This theme is a perfect for a photo blog.

There are 2 color schemes (black, blue), and just like OnTheGo, is completely customizable out of the box.

Again this theme ships with all the PSDs in the download.
